Maharashtra Rajya Gharelu Kamgar Samnvay Samiti (MRGKSS) works for the rights of domestic workers. The objective of this committee and its member organizations is to ensure justice, security, and dignity for domestic workers. Its key functions include raising awareness among domestic workers, providing legal assistance, and guiding them through the registration process with the Maharashtra Domestic Workers Welfare Board.

🪪Registration Process for Domestic Workers

✅ Eligibility:

  • Women domestic workers engaged in cooking, cleaning, sweeping, washing utensils, etc.

  • Age group: 18 to 60 years​

📝 Required Documents:

  • Registration form in the prescribed
    format

  • Aadhaar card

  • Ration card

  • PAN card

  • Bank passbook

  • 3 passport-size photographs

  • Certificate from the employer/house owner where the worker is employed

✅ Registration Fee

  • For first-time registration: ₹1 Registration Fee + ₹12 Annual Fee = ₹13

  • For renewal: ₹12 Annual Fee

🎁Benefits Provided:

  • Insurance coverage under Aam Aadmi Bima Yojana

  • Maternity benefit – ₹5,000/-

  • Foreign language training programme

  • Skill development training (for workers and their children)

  • Diploma course for domestic workers (through YCMOU)

  • Mahila Sanman Nidhi – one-time grant of ₹10,000/- for women above 55 years

  • Funeral assistance – ₹2,000/-

🏢 Application Process:

  • Submit the application along with the required documents to the District Deputy Labour Commissioner office and obtain an acknowledgement receipt.

  • The submitted application and documents will be reviewed and verified by the concerned officials.

  • After the verification process is completed, pay the prescribed fees and collect the payment receipt.

  • Once the certificate is prepared, collect it from the office by presenting the payment receipt.

More and more domestic workers should complete this registration to secure their rights.
