MRGKSS

Maharashtra Rajya Gharelu Kamgar Samanvay Samiti (MRGKSS) is a coalition of over 35 organisations across Maharashtra, working with over 1 million domestic workers to recognise their work, improve working conditions, and ensure dignity of life.

Vision

A life of dignity, respect, and security for every domestic worker in Maharashtra.

To create a unified platform that secures legal rights, social protections, and dignity for domestic workers through collective action, capacity building, and solidarity.

Mission

Objectives

Mobilise domestic workers and raise awareness of their rights

Engage with government for protective laws and welfare policies

Ensure access to social security, including pensions, insurance, provident fund, and paid leave

Engage employers to promote respectful and fair working relationships

Collaborate with national and state-level networks to strengthen collective action

The Steering Committee, comprising 15 members and led by 6 Convenors, serves as the coalition’s collective decision-making body
